Industrial Logistics Engineer
Lead internal logistics strategies and their application for greenfield production facilities as well as continuous improvement initiatives for existing facilities
Apply scientific and data analysis / mathematical techniques to develop fit for purpose production logistics strategies, including effective inventory storage, picking, line delivery, and stillage return.
Design line inventory feed strategies including Kanban, just-in-time (JIT), and just-in-sequence (JIS).
Design and maintain the internal logistics engineering methods and business process, ensuring alignment to core KPIs of safety, technical feasibility, cost, space, and level of automation.
Support the specification, procurement, and application of material handling / storage equipment including but not limited to AGVs/AMRs, fork trucks, vertical storage systems, general racking.
Carry out the capture and exploitation of lessons learning to drive a continuously improving logistics strategy and it’s associate application
Lead the test and validation of logistics systems / solutions during initial factory commissioning and serial production handover
Work cross functionally throughout the project life cycle with process engineering, packaging design, ergonomics, facilities engineering, industrial simulation, operations, and external logistics and production material control / warehousing
Effectively management associated logistics engineering KPIs and report on the evolving status throughout the overall development program
Possess a relevant professional qualification and in-depth experience in industrial logistics operations within a complex discrete manufacturing environment
Developing fit for purpose logistics strategies, warehousing, and internal logistics flows from concept to implementation with associated test and validation
Designing and implementing Kanban, JIT and JIS logistics strategies
Developing the specification and supporting the procurement and installation of logistics systems, solutions, and assets
Experience of Six Sigma, Lean and Kaizen Continuous Improvement methodologies
