Prototype Build Technician

MANUFACTURING & ASSEMBLY

JOB DESCRIPTION

Follow H&S guidelines.
Vehicle tear down.
Vehicle build.
Strip and inspect parts.
HV component assembly and operation (training provided).
Diagnosis and resolution of issues with prototype vehicles / test rigs.
Component, software and coding updates to the required level, ensuring all vehicle updates are appropriately documented.
Plan & coordinate training to achieve team versatility requirements.
If required, support prototype test vehicles whilst on test, both in the UK and abroad, providing technical knowledge and facilitating smooth running of vehicle tests.
Liaise with software and hardware suppliers for issue resolution.
Provide remote support and direction to engineers/technicians with problems in the field.
Provide support and technical knowledge to dealer networks and regional offices.
Manufacture / sub-assembly of relevant components i.e. breakout boxes, gateway modules.
Liaise with system and development engineers regarding possible issues identified.
Problem solving to aid in solution of current vehicle issues.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Ability to perform detailed inspection
Proficient with using OEM diagnostic/programing tools � iflex, evodiag, monaco, canalyser.
Failure investigations and problem solving
Working across functional teams effectively
Experienced in one of the following areas is an advantage, Automotive sector, prototype build, Motorsport, commercial vehiclesSkilled with hand tools (Drills, hand powered tools, sanders, torque wrenches, Vehicle lifts, gap gauges)
The ability to understand engineering drawings in multiple forms and understand tolerances. Metric and imperial
A flexible approach to meeting targets and goals able to go the extra mile
Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to communicate to a broad range of stakeholders
Lead with Health and safety awareness ensuring all health and safety standards are met
