JOB DESCRIPTION
3D design and simulation of Body In White (BIW) manufacturing process and facilities for both new and model year programme actions
3D design of Body In White (BIW) manufacturing assembly tooling (geometry and re-spot fixtures, grippers, jigs, transfer, put-down and take-out tooling)
2D detailing of Body In White (BIW) manufacturing assembly tooling (geometry and re-spot fixtures, grippers, jigs, transfer, put-down and take-out tooling)
Manufacturing feasibility assessments and analysis of new BIW product and process concepts
Cost and feasibility studies in support of engineering change proposals
Drive resolution of manufacturing and engineering issues
Collaboration with project team, suppliers and customers
Present design solutions, issues and proposals within Design Buy-Off reviews and Virtual Build Events
Developing and maintaining CAD libraries of tooling and equipment
Ensure that all tooling design data is robust, meets required standards and deliverables and is properly managed
Management of and liaison with key suppliers
Design Reviews and meetings with customers
Manage buy-off and hand-over of design data and documentation
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Experience of BIW assembly process, tooling and facilities
Experience of problem solving technical issues
Skilled experience in using MS Office
Experience of locator strategy principals
Experience of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principals
Experience in using Catia V5
Experience in using Robcad and/or Process Simulate
Experience in using Product Lifecycle Management systems (Teamcenter Engineering, Enovia)
Experience of working in cross-functional teams
Minimum 5 GCSEs at A-C including Maths and English, and at least one A2 level or a BTEC equivalent qualification
One to two years� work experience in an engineering role / environment
