Position Title: Cost Engineer, Metal/Plastic

Duration: Contract

Location: Sweden

Assignment Description:
- As a Cost Estimator, you are responsible for creating fact-based cost estimates from idea and concept phase to existing products.
- In cross-functional teams, you will support the organization to choose the most cost-efficient solutions out of your material and manufacturing skills.
- You understand and are skilled to analyse material cost and quality, deep knowledge about supplier productions, processes and tools, which are the base for the cost estimates.
- You will be a part of a very experienced team that is under development to further enhance tools, systems and processes to become a high rated cost estimation team in the business.
- The work is performed in cross-functional teams and in close cooperation with the key users within departments such as Product Development (R&D), Purchasing and Finance.
- Your previous profile should be from one or more of following business: Cost Engineering/Estimation, Automotive Buyer, Automotive supply chain, Supplier Quality Engineer and/or Production from relevant industry with at least 10 years of experience.

The main responsibility in this role:
- Support design to cost optimizations for projects in early development phase in close cooperation with R&D and Purchasing.
- Ensure optimized choice of technology, materials and manufacturing process.
- Perform fact-based cost estimates (LCE), part and tooling, to be set as base for supplier awarding process and analyse supplier quotes and their cost breakdowns.
- Support change management process by perform fact-based cost estimates + analyse quotes and cost breakdowns from suppliers.
- Both lead and support development of Cost Estimating methodology, instructions and processes
- Cost elements definitions
- Estimating principals
- Estimating process and interaction with other processes
- Local process adaptations
- Lead and manage development of systems within cost estimating
- Execute and support benchmark activities

Competence:
- Broad experience of metal and plastic materials and processes.
- Sheet metal stamping and welding assembly.
- Plastic injection.
- Surface treatment, paint
- Assembly
- Knowledge in other fields such as castings, machining, electronics and/or wire harness is also considered as a great merit.
- CAD (TeamViewer/NX)
- Siemens PCM
- Finance with focus on controlling is an advantage.
- Solution-focused negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Knowledge in Swedish and/or Chinese is an advantage.
- High interpersonal skills but also be able to drive projects independently.
