Contechs are currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM based in Gaydon. They are looking for Vehicle buck and Prototype engineer to join their expanding team on a Contract basis.

Job Description

As a Vehicle buck and Prototype engineer main responsibilities are:

• Proficient CAD user, trained on CATIA V6 Primary focus on the Clients' prototype package models, whilst also supporting other activities related to the engineering and build of technology demonstrator properties.
• These require understanding and then integration of new technologies into existing or new vehicles.
• Solid and surface creation, manipulation and assembly
• Working in collaboration with build suppliers to create accurate physical models in challenging timescales
• Accurate hard model modifications
• Prototype mechanism design and build

Qualifications / Skills required

• Experience in product design in at least one functional area, essential
• Experience of CATIA V6 for detail or packaging design and geometric integration essential.
• Well rounded knowledge of vehicle types, systems and sub systems
• Hands on ability, assembly and dis-assembly, making models
• Experience of negotiating solutions in an area of technical conflict
• Ability to tell a data / CAD driven Engineering story that efficiently highlights status / work to do / help required.
• Driving License
• Working in collaboration with build suppliers to create accurate physical models from Ureols, RP parts in challenging timescales.
• Accurate hard model modification
